Ove Bjelke , born 26 October 1611 and died 22 March 1674 , was a Norwegian officer. He was the son of Jens Bjelke and brother Henrik and Jörgen Bjelke .
After studies in Soro and abroad and participating in a couple of missions were Bjelke 1641 a small Norwegian counties. Both 1643-45 to 1657-60 inlade Bjelke merits of Norway's defense against the Swedes, and received in 1648 the important Bergenshus County in 1666 and moved from there to Trondheim . In 1660 he succeeded his father as Norway's chancellor and was also under the autocracy of Norway's leading men. Bjelke was also interested in science and literature, and built on the farm Austrått a stately baroque castle.
